Our most recent research projects for CheapCaribbean.com explored a mix of fun travel-related topics including bachelor & bachelorette parties, and favorite drinks to enjoy at the beach.
The travel company “with a passion for the beach” commissioned two studies, one looked at sentiments around the traditions involved with the “final night of freedom” and another revealed what Americans’ favorite beach cocktail says about them.
The research found that two in five people (42%) think bachelor/bachelorette parties are more memorable than the wedding itself.
Many respondents said they are ready to stop having explicit-themed items (29%) or visiting a casino (22%), deeming these traditions tacky. The average person expects to spend about $313 as a guest attending a bachelor/bachelorette party, with men typically budgeting about $100 more than women ($364 vs. $263). The average respondent also believes the ideal bachelor/bachelorette party should last two days and be limited to 10 guests, although a third would be open to partying with a larger crowd (34%).
As for the “Beachy Personas” survey, we found that the most-loved drinks on the beach were beer (17%), margaritas (16%) and wine (16%).
Although those who like an ice cold beer are the most extroverted of the bunch (33%) – with margarita-enjoyers being their introverted counterparts (50%) – respondents who prefer sangria are the most likely to have at least five friends.
Results showed that those who prefer a mojito have the most success when it comes to dating (88%) and are happiest with their lives (85%).
But they’re not the only ones having fun – bloody mary drinkers are the most adventurous (80%) and are likeliest to say “yes” to everything (73%). The survey found that no matter the drink, three in four respondents said they’re at their most relaxed when enjoying a drink at the beach (76%), with a quarter sharing the perfect time for a drink is after going for a plunge.
Both research projects were conducted online with 2,000 American adults participating in the studies. The results were incorporated into data-led news stories, and illustrated with infographics and animated video. Some highlights of the media campaigns can be viewed here…
